SWG Legends news // *SWG Legends Player Spotlight: outofthisworldburrito*

Main Character Name
Rohko
Where in the RL world do you live?
Washington State, USA
How long did you play the live version of Star Wars Galaxies?
I played the live version off-and-on for a few years subscribing intermittently and binging it over summer breaks. My playtime on Legends certainly exceeds whatever I amounted on live.
What does a typical SWG day consist of for you?
First, I check to see if any resources have been reported by community members that I'd be interested in setting harvesters on. Then I login to check my vendors for sales and relist any items that have yet to sell. Checking in-game mail on my medic is always a top priority since he's currently the mayor of Sevmena on Corellia, so keeping track of player inquiries and citizens is a regular duty. Lastly I set what my goals are for my play session which can vary between crafting projects, tackling quests, or searching for group content like PvP or Heroics.
What was the race and profession of your very first character?
Bothan spy because the Rebellion needs many of them to obtain the location of the Death Star II.
What is the one thing you’ve always wanted to be in Star Wars Galaxies that isn’t or is no longer?
A Dathomirian witch-like profession. While I'm not the biggest Nightsister fan I feel SWG offers one of the more compelling depictions of them in the franchise. Having a profession that focuses on witch magic to fuel abilities, instead of technology or the Force, could help diversify the game's combat and roleplay offerings.
What other hobbies or activities do you take part in, other than playing Star Wars Galaxies?
Right now I spend a lot of time sharing Star Wars Galaxies with others by creating guides for the game on YouTube and streaming it on Twitch. It has been a lot fun getting to share my experience with people who are current players, returning to the game, or are entirely new to it altogether. Putting SWG aside entirely, I play other video games, tabletop games, and spend more time watching YouTube and anime then I probably should. Right now I'm (still) playing through Baldur's Gate 3, I started Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, and meet with a group monthly to play Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition. Lately I've been watching/listening to video essays on YouTube while exercising and my anime watchlist is too long to recite here.
What race and profession is your main character?
Bothan medic because the Rebellion needs many of them to make sure not all of the Bothan spies die obtaining the location of the Death Star II.
What do you like most about the profession you have chosen for your main character?
Medics are welcome in all aspects of the ground game and make great beast masters. I like the variety of options beast mastery introduces to the profession and the character pets bring to the game. I've enjoyed taming and cataloging creatures across the galaxy on Legends while my pets keep me company.
What faction is your main character?
Rebel. A free galaxy is the only galaxy I'd want to live in.
What is your favorite player owned ship?
Vaksai. It has one of my favorite looks in the game and is a blast to fly.
What is your favorite ground vehicle?
AV-21 Landspeeder. It is a slick ride with great color options and it's a cool reward for the Corellian Corvette instance. I only wish my container luck was better so I could find more engines.
How did you choose your main character's name?
I can't remember exactly as I made it up as a kid but I wouldn't be surprised if I was inspired by the cartoon character Rocko from Rocko's Modern Life. Rocko is a wallaby, definitely not a canine, but his snout and long ears are reminiscent of a bothan's from a certain point of view.
What is your favorite planet and/or city and why?
Naboo is my favorite planet in SWG as I have a lot of good memories exploring its wilds and living along lakeshores during live. The lake in the center of the world, outside Keren, is still a favorite spot of mine to visit. My favorite city would have to be Cloud City. I've always wanted to enter the skyscrapers of Coronet and Cloud City did that but on another world. The other sectors of the city, like the Underground Cantina and Industrial area, also help it to feel like a real place in the galaxy.
What is your favorite NPC?
Guf drolgs. They're like dewbacks but with snaggleteeth which makes them more endearing to me.
What are the most credits you have ever spent on purchasing a single item for one of your characters?
I purchased the Lambda Shuttle Deed not too long after it released for a bit over 100 million credits. It is the only ship I own where the deed cost me more credits than the parts inside the vessel.
What do you like best about SWG Legends?
The community because without them there wouldn't be a SWG Legends. Whether they're on the Legends Staff or just someone who logs in once a week to meet their GCW points quota, without everyone there wouldn't be another galaxy to call home. Runner up is definitely the availability of instant travel vehicles/items. The reworked Mystical Stone alone saved me hours navigating Kashyyyk and I can never go back to driving out to my harvesters every time I want to empty their hoppers.
Describe your best experience playing Star Wars Galaxies.
Discovering crafting on live was definitely a turning moment for me in the game. Before I crafted anything I had a casual interest in SWG only taking passes at the game's content without engaging in the wider sandbox. Once I made a Structures Trader and found out I could make my own homes and furniture I got hooked on the game. The first time I server capped a weapon on live felt like a major achievement since I taught myself much of the system. It was great joining Legends and refreshing my knowledge while also learning from veterans who dug into the system far more than I ever did.
What is your favorite questline and/or place within Star Wars Galaxies and why?
The "Defeat Lord Cyssc Blackscale" questline to unlock the Rage of the Wookiees badge is my favorite series of quests in the game. It puts a lot of what the game has to offer on display by mixing ground and space quests together across Kashyyyk. The Blackscale Compound is a visually unique instance and the final battle with Lord Cyssc in Kashyyyk Space is a great moment. The story is also good which helps to make a real Star Wars adventure.
