If you answered "yes", then perhaps you have the core aspects needed to join the Events & Social Media Team!


Applications are now being accepted to join an exciting and rewarding team that covers nearly every aspect of SWG Legends! As a member of the Events & Social Media Team, you will be running live events, holding community contests, writing feature articles, managing the social media platform, coordinating player events, creating graphics, scripts, narratives and much more! It's an exciting role that spans multiple skills and qualifications.
Read on for some of the required and optional skills that make an ideal candidate for this opportunity!
Required Skills
Above all else, the Events & Social Media team must be able to communicate with the community! It is imperative that candidates for the role be able to be articulate and creative in their use of writing.
  • Language - excellent use of English (written), basic speaking at minimum
  • Creative Writing - good use of writing skills for generating engaging articles, dialogue, narration, and announcements

Skills for the Ideal Candidate
Having competencies or an aptitude for the following would make for the ideal candidate to the Events & Social Media team.
  • Social Media - competent with most major social media platforms
  • Graphics - good skills with image editing applications
  • Storytelling - competent to good ability to generate a script or narrative that is easily followed
  • Organization - good discipline with managing and documenting deliverables
  • Social Skills - good to excellent social skills to interact with community (and sub-communities)
  • Team Player - excellent ability to work with others
  • Availability - flexible availability to align with events that span all global time zones
  • Time Management - good discipline with meeting deadlines and planning timelines

Optional Skills
These competencies would really round out a team member and help them succeed in the role.
  • Roleplaying - competent ability to portray a character (canonical, Legends, or original)
  • Star Wars Lore - competent knowledge of Star Wars characters, timeline, and related canon (official or Legends)
  • SWG Legends - competent to good knowledge of Star Wars Galaxies gameplay, systems, features and limitations
  • Decoration - fair to competent skills with creating scenes in-game
  • Layout - fair ability to layout pages and documents
  • Technical Experience - any level of technical experience helps in order to engage with other teams, understand the inherent limits on what the engine can, and how to utilize the available tools to create cohesive events
  • Video Design - any level of competency is a bonus, but not required
  • Soft Skills - good ability to work under pressure, think on the fly, adapt and adjust during live events.
