SWG Legends news // *Friday Feature - Celebrating Women*

Hello Legends! Today is more than just Friday, it is also International Women's Day! So with that in mind, let's dedicate this Friday Feature to some of the high-profile women of the Star Wars universe and where you might find them in SWG Legends! We could not possibly cover them all, but we hope those selected will help introduce you to different tasks and quests you can get involved in thanks to these intriguing individuals!
Join us as we celebrate these heroes (and villains) and then go forth and join others in celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women in our own universe!

Leia Organa

The beloved princess of Alderaan, Leia Organa is the heart and soul of the Alliance. She is an icon among icons, with no less than TWO professions in SWG Legends that have her as their career path image. Fittingly, one may find Leia in multiple locations in the galaxy. Most will be able to find her at the Hidden Rebel Base on Corellia. She is upstairs, monitoring the action from the Command Center and will have missions for any Rebel following the themepark quests for that faction.
Portrayed by the late Carrie Fisher, SWG Legends honors the life of this Hollywood royal via an in-game memorial in Dee'ja Peak.
Star Wars would not have been the same without Princess Leia. It's something we can all agree on no matter what faction we support!

Mara Jade

As a Hand to the Emperor, Mara Jade is an extremely capable and dangerous agent of the Empire. Imperials partaking in their faction themepark will encounter her briefly from her location at the Death Watch Bunker. During Empire Day, her striking presence is visible in Theed as she takes part in the Empire Day festivities. Those speaking with her quickly learn that she is not here to enjoy fireworks or celebrate Imperial prosperity. She is in Theed to deploy agents into the field for action.
Those who know about Mara are aware of how her story unfolds as the timeline progresses. It remains to be seen what her future in SWG Legends has in store! For now, treat her with all the respect you might give to Vader or Palpatine for she is no less dangerous.

Mon Mothma

Though only briefly seen in the original movies, Mon Mothma is an incredibly intelligent, ambitious, and benevolent hero of the Alliance. Were she any less, the Rebellion spark may never have ignited to a flame. Mon Mothma is most known for running operations at an "abandoned" Rebel Base on Dantooine. Those interested in helping the Alliance with Imperial activity in the area will be directed to her as part of the Rebel Themepark quests.

Aralina Silk

Don't tell Mara Jade, but she is not the only Hand of the Emperor! Aralina Silk is another such Hand who is willing and able to undertake whatever Palpatine wishes be done! No matter the cost! Rebels, Imperials, bystanders - all must fear the Jinsu Razor-wielding agent. Having survived the Battle of Restuss, she continues to let the Dark Side of the Force power her abilities. In the ruins of that once-grand city, she still dwells in the shadows. Occasionally she appears to challenge any nearby. Defeating her could earn the victor her lightsaber hilt.

Lora

Not all heroes wield sabers or command armies. Introducing Lora, a successful business woman who hires entertainers from around the galaxy from the Legends Club Cantina on Bespin. Her business acumen is well respected in Cloud City. She has cornered the market on Ionized Tibanna Gas, a valuable resource that she offers as part of the payment to her contractors. She then accepts that very gas back in exchange for numerous goods such as paintings, furniture, and a valuable set of jewelry that entertainers in every dance hall in the galaxy either flaunt or desire to own.

Leandra

Let's take a look at another powerful woman in the galaxy but use this as an opportunity to learn a little more about specific type of NPC. Spell Weaver Leandra is a Herald NPC which means they have some information that you'll want to pay close attention to! By speaking with such NPCs, you can be directed to some very interesting points of interest.
In this case, Leandra is livid over a splinter-group of Nightsisters near the Great Canyon in the far north of Dathomir. She is weary of their existence and their heresy. But do not follow her guidance alone. The cave she sends you towards is dangerous beyond imagination! These Nightsisters are the Spiderclan and it is to the deadly Kiin'Dray that they pay homage!
Leandra - like other Herald NPCs - will always send you towards some exciting and unique content that you may miss otherwise. Find them all and expand your adventures!

Charal

Speaking of Nightsisters, we are reminded of one of their exiled witches named Charal. Hers is a mysterious power that allows her to shapeshift; a rare ability indeed. Though late of Dathomir, she now finds herself stranded on Endor with the Sanyassan Marauders. We have yet to see her story unfold, but perhaps one day we will. For now, she remains confined to a moon, desperate to leave. For a person of her considerable power, it is only a matter of time before she finds a way. But at what cost, and who will pay?

Profession Counselor

This influential woman needs no introduction, which is good because she has not told us her name. But she is someone everyone should get familiar with. She is your guide to a new career path! Speak with her to unlearn what you have learned and switch around your entire expertise build or even choose a new path completely!
She is known simply as the Profession Counselor and you can find her in many locations. But her advice and training is not always free. Be prepared to pay if you want to sit under her learning tree.
Thank you for allowing us to introduce you to just a few of the amazing women that are important parts of the larger galaxy. There are more than we could ever feature but we selected these varied few to help raise awareness of the multitude of SWG systems that they are a part of; an echo of the aim of International Women's Day to evolve the world towards one that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive. We ask again for you to take time to reflect the women you know - both close to you and those who have inspired you from afar - and celebrate them.
Happy Friday and more importantly Happy International Women's Day!
