How long did you play the live version of Star Wars Galaxies?
On live I was around actively from 2006 until the servers shut down.
Most of the time was spent on the server Radiant until I transferred to Chilastra the last year of live. I joined Legends in July of 2016
What does a typical Star Wars Galaxies day consist of for you?
Lately I’ve taken a very casual approach to SWG. Most of my gameplay revolves around my beast master laboratories. Running incubations, processing Hydrolase, farming Krayts, and searching for isomerase & lyase enzymes. I'm quite religious about keeping up on new resource spawns as well. Besides that, one of my favorite things is looking for others who I can help in game. I’ve also been dabbling with weaponsmith lately, crafting weapons for friends.
What was the race and profession of your very first character?
Zabrack, Medic/Beast Master
What is the one thing you’ve always wanted to be in Star Wars Galaxies that isn’t or is no longer?
Droid Commander. Basically how beast master functions with its expertise tree, but with droids! They are one of the most iconic things in the Star Wars universe along with lightsabers and storm troopers.
What other hobbies or activities do you take part in, other than playing Star Wars Galaxies?
I really enjoy photography, building PCs and tinkering with electronics, and cars.
What race and profession is your main character?
Same as my first character! Zabrack, Medic/Beast Master
What do you like most about the profession you have chosen for your main character?
It’s extremely versatile, and healing in SWG is a bit unlike any other game. While it’s a lot more simplified than other healers it’s extremely potent. *Boom* instant full health. With beast master thrown into the mix I can solo a lot of content, or hop into a group and play a support roll.
What faction is your main character?
Imperial
What is your favorite player owned ship?
ARC-170. I have a lot of good memories with it from flying with friends on live.
What is your favorite ground vehicle?
AV-21. While it’s not the most special speeder, it’s always had that sporty look and feel to it.
How did you choose your main character's name?
This is embarrassing…
I’ve always been bad with names, the first MMO I ever played I struggled to come up with a name for my character. My first name starts with G, so I thought Ice-G sounds pretty cool. (Mind you this was back in like 2004) well that name was taken. So I added my favorite car at the time to the end, the Mazda RX8. It ended up IceGrx8. When I found SWG I was still bad with names and didn’t come up with anything better. Somehow the 8 was dropped in the process and I became Icegrx. When I joined Legends, I wanted those I played with on live to be able to recognize me, so I brought the name over else I’d have picked something much better… maybe.
What is your favorite planet and/or city and why?
My favorite planet is Kashyyyk. I have so many good memories running quests there. Plus the idea of a dense forest planet is just cozy and nice. I know a lot of people hate kashyyyk for it’s non speeder and instanced areas, but it’ll always hold a special place in my heart.
My favorite city is Stratford Vale. It’s a player city here on legends that I have recently called home. The players and community surrounding the city is something really awesome to be apart of.
What is your favorite NPC?
Mechthorians
Hear me out… I have a thing against Ithorians, the double mouth thing just doesn’t sit right with me. I’ve always joked that I hate them. So when I came upon a fully cybernetic ithorian NPC named “Mechthorian” I completely lost it. I forgot they existed until I was presented with this question. I’ve gotta go check them out again.
What are the most credits you have ever spent on purchasing a single item for one of your characters?
Probably one of the synapse crystals I’ve bought. I’m not big into collectible decorations, so I haven’t spent a ton on one item in particular.
What do you like best about SWG Legends?
Being able to play SWG all over again with my old friends from live. We’ve hopped around playing different games together throughout the years but SWG is truly home.
I also really enjoy helping those out who are just experiencing this for the first time. It’s like experiencing the magic and wonder again through their eyes.
Describe your best experience playing Star Wars Galaxies.
Me and my “cousin” were always up to shenanigans on live. I’ll always remember running the ryyat trail quests with him until early in the morning one day. His keyboard broke halfway through and he had to rush to the store at some absurd hour to buy another one so we could finish up. We were fully addicted to swg at that point.
My buddy I’io and I also image designed our characters to be short, fat and super ugly once, comb overs and everything. We walked into the cantina joking around with everyone that “we were in search of girlfriends” … we found none.
What is your favorite questline and/or place within Star Wars Galaxies and why?
Either the Ryyat Trail or the Kerritamba quests. When I played those quests on live it marked the point that I was the most immersed into swg. It’s always nostalgic and brings a smile to my face when I run those again on Legends.
