SWG Legends news // *Friday Feature - The SWG:Legends Wiki*

Greetings Legends,
For this Friday Feature, we would like to shine the spotlight on a project we have been working on little by little for a few months now. Some of the most useful SWG information you can find online these days can be inaccurate, outdated, or just flat out wrong when it comes to what we all knew as Star Wars Galaxies during live and what we all currently know here as SWG:Legends today. Our answer to the many questions people have can be (or soon will be) found on our SWG:Legends Wiki located right here. Today, we’re going to touch a little more on why we started this project, as well as the process of getting it to where it is now, what kind of things you can find, and how we can all work together to make this wiki a new useful and ever-evolving tool that can serve our community to the best of its ability with the most relevant and up to date information when it comes to the Omega server here on Legends.
Why did we create an SWG:Legends Wiki?

There’s many reasons to want to create something like a wiki page, but the ultimate one was to help the Legends community. There are often so many questions asked by new players, and even more from returning players who have had the experience of playing SWG on live. Many want to know exactly what’s different here on the Omega server compared to the original SWG experience most of us remember many years ago. There are lots of big and small changes that we hope to chronicle on this wiki for a long time to come, and we’re very anxious to share it with you all and see it flourish.
What was the process of getting the wiki to where it is now?

The SWG wiki was an enormous collaboration of community members and there’s no denying the research, time, and passion that went into building the majority of what the current wiki is made up of. The time it took to copy that data was substantial: 57 Content Pages, and 5,189 Pages (All pages in the wiki, including talk pages, redirects, etc.), but the SWG:Legends Wiki was officially born on May 17th, 2019. Ever since, we’ve been working to update all of the information there to how it fits our server now and trying our best to manually upload all of the missing images that were unable to be transferred over during the process. Much work has been done, but there’s still so much more we can do together to shape this into the most modern and referenced SWG information tool out there.
What can I find on the SWG:Legends Wiki?

In short, anything related to SWG:Legends. Everything you would want to know or could hope to learn whether it be professions, space, crafting, anything that’s part of the game. Through our wiki, you will be able to connect to our different social media platforms, our youtube channel, and so much more! Do you have a friend that’s thinking about checking out Legends? Send them to our wiki and they can watch the SWG:Legends trailer right there! If you want to read up about new/exclusive content here on Legends, this will be the next new place you can learn about it. The galaxy is massive, but we feel our new wiki will be able to carry itself over the long haul and retain much useful/relevant information that will benefit all of us.
How can we work together to improve the Wiki?

As already mentioned earlier in this article, the SWG wiki was a labor of love by community members, and we want to give YOU that same opportunity to collaborate and build this wiki into the most up to date and referenced source of information available to anyone involved with SWG:Legends. All of our users (in good standing) can sign in to the wiki with their current account information and begin to get involved with the development of our wiki.
We truly look forward to seeing this wiki grow and seeing how involved the community is in cultivating that growth. Share your knowledge, work together, have discussions, and try to always be respectful of differing opinions. This concludes our Friday Feature on The SWG:Legends Wiki.
May the force be with you,
SWG:Legends Staff
