SWG Legends news // *Friday Feature: Of Darkness and Light*

Long before the Emperor's reign, there were those who rallied against the brutal machinations of the Sith. Though it seems that darkness has finally won, there are some that still remember the days before the dawning of the Galactic Empire: when the fabled Jedi were the guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy. Journey with us today in this Friday Feature, as we discover four unique locations you can visit in Star Wars Galaxies that explore the eternal battle between the Dark Side and the Light.
Are you ready? Then let's start our tour.

The Light Side
The Jedi Order were the protectors of the Republic for millennia, the keepers of the Light, and the defenders of peace. This was cut short with the rise of the Empire and the ascension of then Chancellor Palpatine to Emperor. With the dawning of the Empire, the Jedi Order was all but scrubbed from existence. However, some fragments of their illustrious past remain for those intrepid enough to venture to seek them out.
Jedi Temple Ruins
Once upon a time, this was a grand complex that trained many prestigious Jedi. Its story began with the venerable Jedi Master Vodo-Siosk Baas, and ended with the attack of Darth Malak's forces during the Jedi Civil War. Now it is nothing but ruins, the Force echoing through the rubble and the trees with memories of the past. On Yavin 4 however, Master Baas's fallen pupil would establish his own temple of power, but that is a story for a bit later...

Light Jedi Enclave
It was said at one time the Light Enclave on Yavin 4 called to those that could sense the Force. Now it lies mostly empty, its grand halls a monument to a moment in time that has now passed. Its mighty guards now long gone, the Light Enclave still remains - a testament to the enduring strength of peace and the spirit of justice. Perhaps the shattered fragments of those who serve the Light will see it used once more.

The Dark Side
As long as there has been Light, there has been Darkness that screamed in defiance. Exemplified most famously by the Sith, the Dark Side of the Force is ruled by negative emotions. It is the worst of us: fear, anger, hate and suffering. Those who choose the path of darkness choose a life dedicated to chaos and strife, for how does one grow and evolve without it? Without strife, there is only stagnation after all. Or so we've been told...
Temple of Exar Kun
Where once there was a Jedi Master who built a grand enclave on Dantooine, there was also a wayward student that found his own place of power on Yavin 4. Though his was much more sinister. This was of course the infamous Dark Lord of the Sith, Exar Kun. Constructed by enslaved Massassi who thought him a God, it became a vessel for his spirit for four thousand years. Called a monument to evil by none other than Corran Horn, the Temple still stands. Do you dare to venture to the heart of darkness yourself?

Dark Jedi Enclave
Just as there was a space for those who celebrated the Light, there was another for those who reveled in the Darkness. Deep within the jungles of Yavin 4, its entrance was once guarded jealously by those who sought to ensure its secrets stayed out of the hands of the unworthy. There are tales that it was a place for those seeking power to gather. Now it stands quiet, a memory of another time. Perhaps it is for the best, as there is more than enough evil alive on Yavin 4...
