SWG Legends news // Current State of the Galaxy

Greetings Legends,
We would like to update you on the current state of our server.
A quick refresher on a few events that have taken place recently:
On New Year's Eve at approximately 12:13 AM GMT, we encountered hardware failure with one of our server SSD drives. Development spent the next 9 hours straight moving files over and configuring our secondary SSD drive to run our main game servers while waiting for our server host to swap out our dead SSD.
On January 3rd at approximately 8:00 AM GMT, our server host swapped out our dead SSD with a new one. We then moved the necessary components back to our new main SSD in order to balance the load of our servers.
Ever since our hardware failure, you may have noticed our game server going down at different times.

Development has been closely monitoring server behavior when these crashes occur. An issue we have pinpointed is our virtual memory swap program caps out at 100% CPU usage right before the server crashes. Development has been adjusting the proper amount of virtual memory allocated to our swap program to help it from overloading the CPU and keeping the CPU usage stable.
These issues are server operating system configuration issues only. We are adjusting the configuration values as needed. Neither the Java update nor the ILM 2 release have had any influence on this.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you. We are doing our absolute best to fix these issues as quickly as possible and we cannot express enough how grateful your patience has been to us during this time.
We hope this has given you some insight into the behind-the-scenes work of our development team.
May the Force be with you,
-The SWG:Legends Team
